We provide practitioners with a range of support to design and deliver programs that meet the diverse, emergent, and often complex needs of adults attending their programs.

Professional Development
We engage with practitioners to ensure our offerings align with their professional learning needs. Sessions are available online or in the community and are led by subject-matter experts and knowledge holders from across the foundational learning field.
To support our grant-funded programs, we also offer customized, in-house Professional Development on adult foundational learning topics. Sample sessions include:

We regularly share information about upcoming workshops, community conversations, and professional learning communities in our newsletter, The Connector.
We work closely with provincial CALP system partners — including the Community Learning Network (CLN), Alberta Routes (part of Norquest College), ECALA, and Portage College — and regularly share their Professional Development opportunities.

Customized Support
We offer customized support to practitioners of our grant-funded programs. We work alongside our program partners to:
- co-create approaches that strengthen program design and delivery
- support best practices and trauma-informed approaches
- reduce barriers to learning
- deepen understanding of literacy and learning challenges
Recognizing the deep overlap between foundational learning and poverty reduction, Calgary Learns also welcomes opportunities to engage with poverty-serving organizations through knowledge sharing.
