Adult Learning Programs
There are many reasons to return to learning.
If you are looking for a learning program to support your goals, Calgary Learns funds programs that may help.
Calgary Learns provides grants to non-profit organizations to deliver foundational learning programs. Programs are for learners who are:
- Building basic skills, up to Grade 9 or Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6
- Adults (over 18)
- Living in Calgary
- Facing financial barriers to learning
We support programs that help with learning basic skills. Some programs are designed for a certain group of learners:

Digital Readiness Tutoring Program
The Women’s Centre
Are you a woman looking to build your computer skills? Come join us! We will focus on the basics of using computers. You’ll learn how to use Microsoft, stay safe online, manage your files, use Zoom, and navigate websites. You can learn at your own pace.

Making Changes

Digital ESL for Seniors
Centre for Newcomers (CFN)
Are you over 55 years old? Are you interested in learning English while learning basic computer skills? This course will help students learn beginner English (CLB1/2) while using computers and smartphones. Students will also learn how to be safe online.

Digital Literacy for Newcomers
Calgary Catholic Immigrant Society (CCIS)
Do you need to learn basic computer skills? Are your CLB Levels 1-4? Come to this course for help. The learning topics will match your interests. Classes are taught in-person or online. Learning is given in home languages (Pashto/Dari, Amharic, Tigrinya, Ukrainian) and English.
