Adult Learning Programs
There are many reasons to return to learning.
If you are looking for a learning program to support your goals, Calgary Learns funds programs that may help.
Calgary Learns provides grants to non-profit organizations to deliver foundational learning programs. Programs are for learners who are:
- Building basic skills, up to Grade 9 or Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6
- Adults (over 18)
- Living in Calgary
- Facing financial barriers to learning
We support programs that help with learning basic skills. Some programs are designed for a certain group of learners:
Community Access to Literacy Learning (CALL)
CanLearn Society
Is English your first language? Do you struggle with reading? Come to this course! It will help you strengthen your reading and writing skills. This will help you to feel more confident in your everyday life and support you in finding better work opportunities.

Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS)

Further Education Society (FESA)
Are you learning English at CLB 1-2 or CLB 3-4? Join us! In this program, you will improve your reading and writing in a way that matches your needs and interests. You will build confidence for activities like shopping and making appointments.
